Winter wonderland

What a day. We awoke to snow, and knowing we were nearly out of fuel in the car needed to get into Keighley to fill it up. So we wrapped up, woolly socks over the trouser bottoms, boots, hats, gloves, - you get the feeling, and cleared the drive and the car and set off. To find that in town ( 3-4 miles away) there was no snow. We looked a little over dressed at the filling station!

Got home and walked Reggie up through St Ives, he still had to have a swim in Baxter's Pond , like you do when it is partially frozen over and covered with snow and then wound our way around taking in the stillness and beauty. I have rarely seen trees so covered in snow, I assume it was because there was little wind to blow it off.
It was so beautiful and all the photos were magical but I think this was just my favourite.

This was early afternoon, and it had snowed steadily but lightly all day, but from early evening it cranked up a notch and came down much thicker. Could be fun in the morning rush hour but it was worth it to see the trees like this.
