Chamarel Coloured Earths

Thursday was our second tour day.  This took in an extinct volcano and then the Hindu temple at Grand Bassin.  Here we marvelled at the amount of fish in the lake (fishing was prohibited) and watched the monkeys.  We next travelled to a lookout over the forest at the centre of the island, before having lunch with a view!  Next, we visited the Rhumerie at Chamarel  and then visited a viewpoint looking over Chamarel Falls.  Finally, we went on to visit the Coloured Earths at Chamarel, where volcanic earths provide a great variety of colours.
