King Ethelred of Wessex

Back in Dorset and a sunny day wandering round Wimborne. Took lots of sun prints( W Barnes- Dorset poet's suggested word for photograph). Spent hour in the ancient Minster. Chose this brass plaque.King Ethelred of Wessex who spent a lot of his reign(865-871) fighting Vikings . He died in battle and is buried in the Minster. He was succeeded by Alfred the Great .
