Duck GPS failure?

Well I never expected to see a Mallard at 2,000m today. I thought he was lost but I met an old farmer who said that the duck has hung around this meltwater pool for a few days for the last 3 years. Must be a high altitude variety, or gaining strength for his nuptials on Lake Geneva later!
