Chateau Mon Desir, Balaclava, Mauritius

Last night we went to The Chateau Mon Desir. It's the best fine dining on the island of Mauritius and run under the guidance of Harold Wohlfarht, a 3 star German Chef. He's one of the 10 top chefs in the world and has kept his 3 Michelin stars for a record 22 years.

Needless to say the meal was amazing. We were given an annex on our own and different wines to match each course! The service was exemplary and the ambience did justice to the 300 year old building, decked out in a colonial style.

I returned to photograph the outside about 1am in the morning after telling the hotel security I was there. The blip photo is of the back of the Chateau and shows the stars above. It was a difficult photo to capture due to the high power lights that light it up all night. I've done a job in processing to hide the glow.

We are back again tonight. Can't wait!
