47 Years old

These are a salt and pepper set that I won in a race walking competition back in 1968 in Singapore. On return from Singapore, as a single lad, the salt and pepper set was not of much use to me so my parents kept them for me. In 2013 the items were returned and they disappeared into a cupboard. "R" has been sorting out the cupboards in preparation for our move and they have reappeared again - this time a decision: do we keep or pass them on? It was down to whether they would clean up to a reasonable state to be displayed. They both looked like the one on the left but after a few minutes with some silver polish the results are evident in the appearance of the one on the right - they will be kept. The reflection in the bottom of the right one is me taking the Blip.
