what we did today...

Embroidery for beginners....

Today's blip is my achievemt at our SWRI class on embroidery (despite the comedy mr bump finger!). We did heavy chain, running, stem and french knot. In two weeks we have a competition to make an embroidered napkin with a bake off theme. Usually a wee lady in her late 70s is the only one who can embroider and is put upon for any competitions. So the young 'uns, as we are called, decided we needed lessons to help out. So this eve was a beginners session run by Dorie Wilkie (she who organised the Great Scottish Tapestry Project). I really enjoyed it and shall attempt to practise and then embroider a napkin in the next couple of weeks.

Thank you for all the sympathy for my poor wee pinkie. It has stopped bleeding and hurting now so hopefully it will be out of its wee cocoon quite soon :-)
