Last day

On the last day of 2014 mum came to town and we did some shopping before heading back to mine for lunch.  Paul joined us later in the afternoon and Luke and I took down our tree so Paul could drive it back to relocate to Mum's garden for the year!

We opted to spend our New Years Eve evening at the cinema to see The Hobbit, by far the best of the trilogy. I have not felt as invested in the story of The Hobbit,  I had looked forward to it very much but when it turned out that the story would be split across three years I just felt sadness as I knew Dad would not be here to see them all.   I treasure the shared hours at the cinema and at home enjoying the Lord of the Rings trilogy with Dad.

It felt fitting for Luke and I to leave the cinema at 10pm and then head home to see out the year with the extended version of The Fellowship of the Ring, I think Dad would have liked that idea!
