Progress!

A £36m scheme to double up the rail line between Wrexham and Chester is in progress.  This is the view earlier today from what was the location of Rossett Station (closed in 1964).  Looking north towards Chester.

A dual line did run successfully between the two locations up until 1980 when it was reduced to a single track to allow construction of the A483 bypass.

Looks like a lack of foresight and planning has cost £36m!
