On Ceremony

Caught up with a colleague today who was away in India in november and December to get married. the wedding sounds like the most amazing and exhausting experience (1000 people attended). The photos of her, her husband and the whole event are stunning. She is back in the UK now and he is back in America. so it's Skype for a while. I hope they can find a happy way forward but it's going to be tough.
I popped in to the Bristol museum at lunchtime. I could help but stop at 'The State Entry Into Delhi' - this is just a tiny section of this enormous painting. It's the declaration of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra as Emperor and empress of India in 1903. I only had time for one painting and this was more than enough!
