Portrait of an old woman
I saw this woman sitting peacefully among the chaos of people. She took it all in. I watched her for a time. She was bundled in a white winter coat like she was in a deep freeze in one of the places that actually get winter. She was not. Her frail bones couldn't handle the 50 degree weather. She sat. Watching. Waiting. I'm really not sure what. I approached and asked her if I could take her picture. She nodded. I really wanted so much more. I wanted to know what she had done in life? What she was like as a child? What she was watching? What she was waiting for? But I did not ask.
