Tulip decay

I am prone to Sunday flowers but the only ones I have are my 3 week old tulips (the hyacinth are long since binned).  These are one of the best flowers for photographing when decaying.

Visited my parents today and discovered the full story of them receiving a knock on the door at 4am - can you believe for a few seconds my dad thought the best course of action would have been to open the door with the chain on thinking he'd jam the guys hand in the door, why?!?!?!?!?   I did tell him that the guy was miles stronger and would have burst through for sure and that added with his health problems it would have been a stupid option and the only option was the one they took i.e. calling the police who told them to call their neighbour (their lights were on).  With all the activity and the neighbour opening their front door the person pulled their hoodie right over their head and skulked away.  I just can't begin to imagine what would have happened if my dad had opened the door I did say to him that he should remember he was 75 not 25!!!!
