Pohutukawa and blue skies

This year I experienced my first Southern hemisphere December, and beautiful it was. 

In New Zealand, December is the month when beautiful pohutukawa trees come into flower, brightening coastlines and dusting cars and pavements with their bright red confetti. 

I think these might just be the ultimate Christmas trees!
