Waiting to pick up the pieces

at the start of the Brissle 10k run - great conditions, cool and dry - some runners with smiles on their faces and sporting charity logos but most were seriously earnest with stop watches at the ready and looking for room around those that were stopping them from bounding forward. The road was quite narrow here at the start but will open up for them further on.
