A Stitch in Time...

Here is a little something from my vintage textile archive. It's a 1940's green silk dressing gown with hand-embroidered embelishment.

Looking at the garment, I believe the embroidery may have been added by the original owner perhaps as a way to demonstrate her skills or to make a simple gown more special. Who knows? That's the joy of vintage.
