Secret beach #7 - Mercer Bay

Today's secret beach was quite an adventure as it is only accessible by either scrambling down steep cliffs (not for the faint-hearted) or by boat.

As I have neither the fearless factor nor a boat at my disposal, I decided to settle for a view from the top.

Somehow Amelia and I happen to take a wrong turning and ended up on the Hillary Trail rather than simply doing the Mercer Bay Loop track. The supposed 1.4km round trip turned into a 5km adventure.

I did discover however that the Hillary Trail may be quite a good training walk for my great Wall of China trek in September :-)

After returning to the car park we sat for a short while watching the sunset - what a perfect mid week treat!!
