Not-so-blue Monday
This evening turned out to be one of those ocassions when time just went nowhere. A plan to meet in the pub to chat all things aviation-related with some of my newer flying club friends turned into impromptu dinner at mine and masses of tea drinking!
The four of us have Headcorn Aerodrome as our playground and share a passion for flying, cars, music and movies. We've not known each other very long but we seem to get along and have lots in common.
Once we got talking we couldn't stop and lots of laughter was had, along with plans for flying adventures, rainy day movie sessions and fancy dress parties!?!
From the conversations tonight I learnt a few new things about my friends and it appears they have alter egos...
One of them is clearly a secret agent who can't keep secrets, but is rather convincing at various regional accents; another one is a time travelling gangster scared of 80s music, while the other is a vegetarian that eats chicken and is all set to be the next Amelia Earhart (without the disappearing into the Pacific Ocean while attempting to circumnavigate the globe bit).
Meanwhile, I have a feeling my alter ago is Penelope Pitstop after insisting on test drives in two of my friends' new cars to end the evening!
Today is apparently 'Blue Monday' as the most depressing day of of the year, but I didn't see anything 'blue' about it. Who has time to be blue when there's friendship and fun to be had (mostly in aeroplanes and sporty/quirky cars)?
