A Guy in Guy's
Another trip up to Guy's hospital for my father today. It's all routine stuff, but I have to say that we'd both prefer it if it could be routine in a hospital local to where he lives. At 89 years old, having to make repeated trips up to London on the train is hard work, and made even harder now that London Bridge is such a mess for the next couple of years.
But the view from the tower can be quite special at times, and in some ways, that view has made it all bearable. We get to look out over the capital in all its chaotic glory and see things we couldn't see from anywhere else. We've seen people dangling from the side of The Shard and looked down on the building works at London Bridge, and we saw the remembrance poppies at the Tower of London.
We even get to see some pretty epic sunsets every now and again.
