Norway is that way

Down on the beach this lunchtime. There was a slight swell and the waves were breaking onto the sand. Not quite 'crashing' or 'booming' but still making a noise.
Later on it was more or less the same teams again at Meadowbank for the third week in a row. After last week's reversal I thought we were in for another difficult night and was pleased we were keeping things tight early on. Good to at least be competitive. After scoring first it took them a long time to get level, and when they did we almostly immediately got back in front. The pattern repeated itself - when they eventually equalised we scored our third straightaway.
We played some neat passes, hitting them on the break. The way I always like to play - holding the ball up and then laying on passes to team-mates running through from midfield. The way we used to play in the Saturday morning five-a-side leagues. And the one change from last week - M playing for us instead of J - made a crucial difference as M is a subtler player who can see the passes better, both making them himself, and making runs into space to receive them. We combined well to set up my only goal of the night - our fourth - most satisfying. Different people got on the scoresheet as we remained in the ascendency and their comeback never materialised. It finished 8-2.
L went to meet her soon-to-be work colleagues today. She said they were all very nice and she had a good day. In a couple of weeks she'll be back there for real. She will be doing maternity cover so she should be there for a few months.
