Winter Pudding

This is a creamy pumpkin custard I made firstly for my good neighbours who did so much for me. Especially Dick who mows (when there is grass), shovels and blows the snow now, re-did my kitchen plumbing for Christmas and lifts heavy things for me now that I am not allowed. He wife is such a good friend. She brought over her homemade potato and ham soup last week  in the larger bowl.
She is a gluten free eater so I made this very creamy pumpkin pie type of filling without the crust. It is simply a rich, healthy custard now. I'll return her bowl with something else in it as a thank you.
I am not sure if people do this so often nowadays. As I remember in childhood (last century) cooks always returned a dish with something else in it.

Another grey snowy landscape day. Warmer temperature of 29ºF (-1.6ºC) which is far better than how the week began 7 days ago @ -10ºF (-29ºC)  and never even reached zero for the day.
That is January typically here.
