Favourite birch tree

I love this silver birch tree in the garden at work: it looks beautiful in many different ways at different times of the year. Today the bark was catching the low sunlight for much of the day - the daylight is returning to the garden now the days are growing longer again.To the right  of the photo you can see part of Woodhenge - our take on the rather more famous Stonehenge. Sadly Woodhenge is decaying - some of the trunks are quite rotten. I expect we will be forced to take it down sooner or later because of Health and Safety - the twin gods who must be obeyed before all others. It will be much missed.

I don't think it got above freezing all day today outside and it wasn't that warm inside until lunchtime either. Still, it was a beautiful day with very little wind, so I was quite happy really.
