Heron on lookout

10 year old Grand-daughter and I took our cameras to the estuary this morning to to see what we could find to photograph. We photographed oyster catchers, bubbles, shells, pine cones views and reflections - then on the way back to the car N spotted this heron land in a tall pine tree beside us.

N has a basic starter camera and is starting to get frustrated with not being able to get the effect she is after. I am lending her my Canon compact camera to use while she is here, and as I haven't used it since I got the Canon SX50,  she might as well take it home with her when she goes. I would hate for her to get discouraged.
