Jumble

Trip to opticians with Arlo in the morning, he needs a mild prescription so new glasses will be donned as of tomorrow. Seems quite excited by the whole thing. Swimming afterwards - me, Arlo and Saul.

Had the afternoon to myself with Arlo at a play date, so had a stroll around town picking up some new shoes and taking a photo or two. Then a coffee, some cake and a read of my book. Very pleasant.

Finally got round to watching Django Unchained, thoroughly enjoyed it - all the usual Tarantino elements are present and correct. Nice to see it decouple from the hype and controversy surrounding the language used.

Seems to be a lot of hype around Viet Cong at the moment, seems to be well justified on first listen. Reminds me of early Interpol, which pretty much means a parody of a post-punk parody. The influences appear to survive the dilution.
