Ducks on Ice
We've had a run of really "warm" weather--high 30's (F) for the past few days--which has caused most of the ice in Lake Michigan to melt. The thaw hasn't extended to the Milwaukee River quite yet though, & the ducks are using the ice as a nice place to stand & pass the time! :)
The Packers/Seahawks game will start in about 2 hours, with the winner moving on to the Super Bowl! The shopping centers & other businesses here will be virtually empty come game time, as most everyone will be home watching the game! Even in church this morning, our priest said his mother called him & told him to say an extra prayer for the Packers! The news channels were featuring the Seattle Mayor who banned cheese there for the weekend....Packers fans are frequently called "cheeseheads", as Wisconsin is the Dairy state... Virtually every sports channel I've listened to has picked the Seahawks to win, just as last week they all picked the Cowboys to win. Sometimes it's good to be the "underdog"--gives you something to prove! Go Pack!!
