Never Forget

This weekend marked the 20th anniversary of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake. Lots of events across the city to mark the biggest natural disaster in the area which changed the landscape of Kobe forever and claimed 6,400 lives.  

These bamboo lanterns in Higashi Yuenchi Park make the shape 1:17 which is the date of the earthquake.  


It takes an earthquake to remind us that we walk on the crust of an unfinished planet
