Athelete Games Day 1

This morning we left the house at around 6.30am to travel down to Manchester to watch The Athlete Games. This is the biggest Crossfit competitions in the UK. Previously it was held in London and named the 'Battle of London'. We went last year and had so much fun we knew we'd be back this year!

We had a great time watching day 1, more tomorrow, and really enjoyed exploring Manchester. I've never visited before so it was nice to wander around the city centre to see some of the sights!

This photo was taken during the 3rd and final WOD of the day. In a 9 minute window you must first complete a total of 60 seconds in a free standing handstand (like the guy on the left). In the remaining time complete as many reps and rounds of 10 ground to overhead, 15 calorie row and 20 pull ups. It looked a very tough WOD but amazing to see the competitors dig hard and push through! Tried to pick up some tips on handstands and pull ups from this one!
