High Dam
This is another one of those photos which sums up why we spend our weekends orienteering. We like nothing better than being out in the countryside bashing through undergrowth, getting completely lost, going up to our knees in smelly bogs, picking up ticks and complaining about our courses, performances, the planner and our competitors back in the car park! Yes!
Today we were at High Dam in the southern end of the Lake District and this is a view of competitors returning from the finish through the very pretty hamlet of Finsthwaite. High Dam is a very technical area and so Tony enjoyed himself greatly despite returning with a bleeding scalp! The knee prevented me from competing so in a minute I am going to begin the download of 500+ photos of orienteers doing their thing!
