As Long As Stars Are Above You
K and I have found NEW Buffet.
Gone is the old one, of the four hours.
We have a new one. And it's almost inside a shopping mall... so plenty of parking.
It's all very tastefully decorated and funky looking and the staff are uber clean, smart and polite. The seating area is beautiful and streamlines - no one is sitting on your lap, and the staff are keeping the tables so clean it's lovely.
And the food. Flipping hairies. The Chefs are preparing the food in duckets between the serving areas, everything is dishes in smaller portions, and refreshed promptly. It all looks fresh and clean, there are no gloopy messes and everything looks appetizing. Everything.
The Satays, the Hash Brown, the Salt and Pepper Prawns, the sweet and sour, the korma, the Dahl, the Bolognaise, the pizza, the curries, the shredded beef, and Hoi San sauce, and pancakes, the teppanyakki. and the global kitchen areas. Phew.
You can imagine the size of us. We were prepared though.... Loose Trousers. Baggy shirts.
And then there was dessert.
Peanut cake, Banoffee cake, Ice Cream, Eclairs, chocolate fountain, Apple Pie, custard, Bananas and Custard, Jelly and Cream ... And these were the only things that we considered.
I have to tell you that there was also a full salad bar, and a full fresh fruit section, but that is NOT what we went for.
The only down side - their heating was caput. It was FREEZING. Absolutely baltic. We joked with the staff about how cold it was, and how diligent we were being by staying, whilst the tables around us changed over 4 times. What is it about people ... don't they understand the concept of BUFFET. Eat all you can Buffet. EAT Everything. Take your time enjoy as much as you can. Stop when you think you may explode.
hey ho - to finish, the boss gave us 20% off for being such saltwarts of the heat, or lack of it, and also - a voucher for money off for the next time.
Yay!!!!
And then I had to drive home. Did I mention, that over the hill from the house .... 2 miles east... it became slightly snowy. 6 miles in pure white... in places it was snowing. Trees were weighed down with the weight of snow on their branches. And then 2 miles from the exit - all clear again. I don't get weather i don't.
So on the way home... it was very blue, and white, but clear, until the freezing fog started. That's it there; i actually pulled over to grab this shot, it was so amazing to see. This huge bank of cloud, rising from the distance, and then moving across, blanking out all the light, and then moving on again.
Weird.
