Time Piece

It was cold and frosty as I left the house this morning to get the train to Guildford.  The trees and grasses glistened in the morning sun as I sped past and I wished I could stop and get off the train and take some photographs.  I had some time to wander in the shops before my dental appointment, as I did big snowflakes started to fall.  In various shops the shop assistants  seemed very excited and went out into the High Street to see the snow.  Having recently moved from Scotland, it seemed very amusing!  This is the clock on the High Street, it dates from 1683 and still works.  The High Streeet is very high, and actually forms a steep hill - hence the view to the open fields in the distance.  There are lots of lovely old buildings in the town which I am looking forward to exploring some more.  This afternoon I have been doing more decorating - this time the woodwork in the bedroom; and this evening I am keeping warm with a chicken stew!
