Something wrong?
Is there something wrong with going to the pub on your own?
During the day?
At work?
I am so close to resigning at the moment, but biting my tongue.
So this Friday, I needed to clear my head. Shot out the office got into the car and drove up to Birdlip, and beyond.
I saw the Golden Heart pub.
By my reckoning I was last there on the 5th July 2003, where I was best man for my best mate at his wedding.
Seeing the Bushmills behind the bar did bring back memories of me having a few drinks before making my best man's speech.
No idea what I said; and if anyone videoed it - then I've never watched it.
I've also never watched our wedding video further than when I made my speech.
I'm far more happier being the viewfinder side of things; and hate seeing/hearing myself.
Anyway, went a bit off course there.
I went into the pub, ordered a lovely half of Best In Show, stroked a dog, chatted to the barman - and apologised (but didn't really mean it) for Hartlepool beating Cheltenham last week.
Read the menu.
Admired the log fire.
Tried not to think about work.
Took some photo's.
Only spotting the "something wrong" bit when I got home. Have you seen it yet?
Finished my beer, then back to the office - via the chippy.
For the record, the typewriter is an Underwood. Not sure if that makes any issue to the question.
It provoked a memory for me, as soon as I saw it of Stephen King.
I'm sure that he either first used one; or/and in one of his 'writer' books (The Shining, Misery, Bag of Bones etc) the protagonist used an Underwood.
Anyway. I'm sure google will solve that...
P.S this typewriter was in the pub. Decoration is all they are used for nowadays.
