Top of the Village: Part 2
Working on phobia-confrontation, I climbed into the car in heavy snow to drive down to the village shop for the papers. The estate streets were completely white. Slithered up to a clear, wet, black, main road; drove to bottom of the village, where it was raining and the pavement was slushy! Got the shopping; uphill past the church, round the corner .... thick snow!
We are obviously astride the snow line. Having lived here for nearly 40 years I am still amazed by the difference half a mile and a hill can make!
At noon, the snow has stopped, the skies in mid-distance over Glasgow are blue, but my planned freezing landscape blip has been overturned by the sound of (outdoor)dripping! Seems like a fast, if welcome thaw. That would be great; enough snow for me.
