Mussel Harvester.
The people on the boat, hadn't seen the mussel harvester working. One lady had been coming to the Sounds for 40 years, and never seen one, or a barge carrying logs that we passed later on.
Another trip to Havelock today, as we had people booked in to go back to Havelock in the morning, so I took the opporunity to get the hire car from the garage in Havelock and go into Blenheim. There were a few things that needed attending to.
Then PJ was meeting me back in Havelock in the late afternoon, as friends were coming through from Blenheim to met us for dinner at the hotel.
Nice not to have to cook dinner for a change.
Paddles was very kind to us, bringing a partly eaten eel into our bedroom during the night!! I left it on the floor, so he could finish it off. It would have been about 30cm or so long, judging by the little bit of its head that was left when PJ got up.
When the creek below our house starts to dry up, the cats have often brought eels back to the house, over the years.
