You gotta start somewhere

The local Tasman District Council runs a skate park competition with an event in each of the small towns of the area with plenty of prizes as well as the kudos of winning.My first time at attending and thoroughly enjoyed it. So many things I didn't know- like, all the juniors perform at once so avoiding each other is part of the trick. Then they do tricks in groups of three.The support by the other competitors and the 100 odd parents and supporters on such a hot day was good to see. The music had a good beat and the concentration of the competitors awesome. Not too many falls and a St Johns man there to slap on a plaster.
My skills at catching them in the air twisting and turning not good. Always someone in the way or behind or half a leg and arm or no scooter or board. So I went for a grandma type shot to suit my age. This was the youngest competitor at aged 6 and he had a ball.
