Hamamelis x intermedia 'Diane'

This Hamamelis x intermedia hybrid is a cross between the Japanese witch hazel (H. japonica) and the Chinese witch hazel (H. mollis). It is in full bloom right now, as are my other witch hazels. Thought 'Diane' is certainly a striking color, it has sacrificed some of the intense scent which is characteristic of this genus.
