Le Cirque du Soleil at the Albert Hall, London
So this is where I was this afternoon. My sister in law came down to London by train for the day to meet me to go together to this fabulous show by the Canadian troupe. Not only that - but she then announced that this was my birthday prezzie! How lovely was that?! (Thank you, M, if you're reading this! x)
First, we and Mr PP had lunch together and then he escorted us to the door of the Albert Hall so we didn't get lost or get on the wrong bus (!) and then we met him afterwards at Paddington to put M on her train home after a coffee.
I wasn't sure what I'd think of the Cirque (I like gymnastics and dance, but I'm not keen on traditional clowns). I needn't have worried - the whole performance was superb! The clowning was genuinely funny slapstick. (And the clowns' make-up wasn't scary.) The gymnastic feats were gripping! The storyline frivolous fun! Very funny interludes! Awesome! Wonderful! As well as all that, it was my first time in the Albert Hall, so that was an exciting experience, too.
Tomorrow (my birthday), we're off to spend the afternoon and overnight with our son and his wife, and the following afternoon heading off to see our daughter and her fiance in Lincolnshire. Fun, fun, fun!
Totally exhausted, mind you, now that we are back in our Premier Inn with sarnies and a bottle of wine!
