A life lived backwards

By GailyWhaley

Beloved and I went out for lunch and I accidentally had a huge piece of coffee cake.
I felt I had to walk it off, so put on my walking boots and headed for Newburn.
It was bitterly cold but fabulously bright. I saw a robin and tried to follow it with my camera. I heard some heavy breathing and was amazed to see a seal pop up and stare right at me. A man out walking his dogs stopped in amazement. He walks along the Tyne nearly every day and although had seen a seal had not seen one so close and so mesmerised by the beauty of an onlooker.! ;-)
She came back time and time again for a look at me.
Told Mam when I got back. She had  a similar experience with a bird this morning.
We felt it obvious that it was Dad coming back to watch us. He died 24 years ago yesterday, but he still pops by occasionally.
