PENANG - 'The food capital of Malaysia'
So, today I arrived in Penang.
I have been really excited about the food this island has to offer and have already sampled 2 delicious meals.
Especially this 'Laksa', pictured.
It was completely different to the 'Nyonya Laksa' of Melaka; firstly it didn't contain coconut, no sea food but it was mackerel based and it had more veg in it (a type of spring onion, I have been informed). Anyway it was delicious.
I also had a Poh Pia, which was infinitely better than the one I had in Melaka.
Then I attended a CS meeting and had chips (or 'fries') and a can of beer - Classy! :)
