this is not right
It’s not right for all sorts of reasons. Real life does not actually look like this. Unless you’re on something.
Number One, though, Numero Uno in the ‘reason’ stakes, is the fact that it’s January and this is a tulip.
Last time I blipped this part of the garden was in April. That’s when tulips should be out: “When it’s Spring again, I’ll bring again, tulips from Amsterdam…” (or the all-night garage). The operative word in that song (made famous by Max Bygraves) is ‘Spring’.
The March Equinox (around 21st of the month) is usually taken to be the 1st day of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere. By my reckoning then, these tulips are nearly 2 months early. This is just not right.
