Where the wind blows
I think you can tell from these grasses which direction most of our wind comes from. There is a small story behind the birdhouse - the base was originally the base of a windmill. After a particularly strong wind, part of the top of the windmill was damaged. A friend who can weld took the broken top to attempt to repair it. After quite a bit of time went by, Mr M inquired about the progress, only to be told that while cleaning out his garage, the friend threw the top of the windmill away with scrap. So we found this birdhouse and anchored it to the top of the base.
Milder temperatures today, still no wind so it is bearable. I'm seeing what looks like cat footprints all over the pasture field and the corn fields - I wonder if it's from a bobcat.
