Warm hands, warm heart.
While it is very cold and windy, I have been busily knitting hand warmers for local charity shops.
This is the pattern.
Cast on 38 stitches using double knitting wool.
Use 4mm needles.
I knit with bamboo as they are warmer than steel.
Knit two, purl two for 7 or eight inches, depending on the hand size you are making the hand warmers for.
Then turn the finished knitting inside out.
Use a bodkin needle and matching colour wool to sew up the seam.
Leave sufficient gap for a thumb hole.
If you want to make a turn over cuff, add two inches to the length.
Have good fun.
