Out to catch the last light as usual, I thought to head downtown but then changed my mind and turned just before Ballsbridge to head for Sandymount Strand. But I had already noticed this little shop near Vincent's Hospital, which I've entered a number of times, perhaps decades ago, to browse the magazines. So I decided to pull in and see if it was much the same. It was cleaner and neater, with few magazines on offer, but still much the same, the kind of shop that might have sold single cigarettes to schoolchildren once upon a time. I asked the man in charge if he'd mind if I took his portrait. He didn't, and was very patient and friendly. So here he is.
