Sunset Over The Santa Ritas
The Santa Rita Mountains aren't referred to in southern Arizona as the Scenic Santa Ritas for no good reason. One of them is the way they turn a gorgeous pink when the sun sets opposite to them in the west.
The hue only lasts for a few minutes and changes from a vibrant pink to a deeper, more mysterious one. The contrasts made by the crevices forming the shadows create a stunning visual image.
Most nights we just stand and watch as the hues change on the mountains in the evening and say to whomever is within earshot, ""Aren't the mountains beautiful?"
