European Magpie

Today I made friends with this bird.
While sitting in my garden I suddenly heard a lot of noise behind me. It was this Magpie, protesting loudly to me. It turned out I was sitting a bit too close to an apple core one of my kids had thrown in the garden, and that he (or she) wanted.

I went in to get my camera, hoping the bird would still be there, but of course when I came back (after switching lenses), both bird and apple core were gone.

I waited a while with my camera ready, and after a few minutes he/she came back for more and I managed to capture it's second protest. Or maybe it was a 'thank you for the apple'. I'll never know.
