Casualty..

of the ferocious wind last night.  An overgrown Elder tree came down over our driveway in the wind.. it was totally rotten at the bottom and had a mass of tree ivy growing on it.  Unfortunately it covered up an unattractive new extension to the house next door so now we and it are in full view of eachother... c'est la vie!!  I have just cleared it away from the road and found this little nest which fell out of the thick ivy.  I think it must belong to a robin... there is sheeps wool which is intertwined with moss and tiny twiglets.. the stronger ones you can see hanging out the bottom where presumably they were stabilising it in the branches... so sweet. Clever little bird..
