Serene Gardens
This is another of the tranquil spots right in the centre of Romsey that you can easily miss, yet providing a largely unseen view to the Abbey tower, although naturally at best when summer blooms complete the picture.
Nevertheless, the delightful garden behind, the period King John’s House is open to all who visit the historic part of the town.
We’ve already mentioned that this quiet corner of the town represents 750 years of history and officially known as the town’s heritage centre provides links back to the 13th century.
But visit the quaint tea rooms, known locally as Miss Moody’s from a footpath just next to the town’s Post Office, and you’ll come across these gardens. Take time to savour the period hospitality in the tea rooms and leave by the garden door.
That’s when you find yourself in these picturesque and relaxing gardens
Come spring, we will return to see how nature provides a changing shape to this spot.
It’s worth waiting for, I promise.
