Coming home
Away back in 2000, my BFF asked me if I would like to help her at her Brownie unit's pack holiday (the theme was Harry Potter). Of course, I said yes, after all, my daughter was one of her Brownies.
On Thinking Day 2001, I made my promise as a leader and embarked on 8 years of being a Guider, firstly as an assistant with Brownies, then as an assistant with Guides, before finally becoming the Guider in Charge of the unit. In 2009/10, I decided that I'd had enough and hung up my woggle!
Last summer, BFF asked me if I'd consider helping out once more at a pack holiday and I duly went along and had a fab time (surprise, surprise!)
Tonight, I donned my uniform once more, back where I started, as an assistant guider with 1st Banchory Brownies. It was like coming home and felt like I'd never been away, although all the girls seem so much smaller than I remembered Brownies being.
I think Guiding may well become a topic of my blips over the coming months lol.
