Outridge Farm
Day 3 and sunshine at last. Early morning photography in and around the Outridge Farm estate with its trio of square oast houses and then off to the bluebell filled beech woods at Mariners Hill, walking along the greensand ridge overlooking the Chartwell estate. Spent the afternoon photographing at Knole (reputedly the largest house in England) in Sevenoaks.
I had two major photographic disasters today. Disaster one struck at lunchtime when I changed my CF card I managed to bend one of the pins and couldn't get the card back in. Fortunately I was able to borrow a camera for the afternoon - a Canon 5D Mk11 with a 50mm f1.4 lens. Superb.
Disaster two came in the evening. I manged to repair the pin and put the card back into my own camera. Unfortunately I got my cards muddled up and seeing some old images decided to reformat. I'd forgotten that it was the card I'd used all afternoon with the Canon. So I lost the afternoon's work with a great camera and lens. Grrrr. I will have to return to Knole tomorrow. Many of the shots can be repeated but unfortunately not the candid people shots that I was rather pleased with.
