Not a Butterfly
I spent the day at the wonderful Melbourne Zoo with a girlfriend to photograph the butterflies. They have really improved the conditions for the animals over recent years. The new enclosures are spacious and beautifully presented. My favourite was the lemur enclosure which is barrier free and you can wander through and get up close and personal with these gorgeous creatures. Several animal handlers were present to answer questions and make sure the public didn't touch the animals.
The butterflies were fabulous and many were sitting still so that I had time to practice macro shots and manual focussing. I got some beautiful photos but I couldn't resist this one of the playful baby elephant, Man Jai.
