Dolphins, dolphins and more dolphins!

Even though I only started back at work on Monday, today I took the day off work in order to celebrate my birthday - a tradition I decided to start last year.

I woke up around 7 and took myself off for a walk before my nutritionist appointment (lost 2.6kg this last week!) and then headed off for today's adventure....

Last year it was horse trekking at Muriwai beach. This year I had decided to go whale and dolphin watching in the Hauraki Gulf :-)

We saw a large pod of bottle rose Dolphins who were jumping out of the water and having a "whale" of a time entertaining us. Due to an engine problem we weren't able to go out further so headed back to the Harbour (and got a free voucher to go again another time!) and saw 3 Hammerhead sharks and about a dozen Blue Penguins on the way (not at the same time)!

It was lovely to sit on the back of the boat as we returned to the city with a refreshing cold bottle of cider and look out to sea and all the island in the Gulf.

I got back into the city around 5pm and headed home for a glass of wine out on the deck enjoying the sunshine and a thai takeaway with the flatties :-)

A perfect end to a perfect birthday..... and yes, I turned 21 again!
