Gently down the stream

More about ambition

Went for a short walk this morning and saw duck, coots, moorhens, a very acrobatic sedge warbler and very nearly got a stonking shot of a woodpecker on a fence, only a cyclist whizzed up behind me and frightened it off - dang! Still, we all must have stories of the-blip-that-got-away and he (the cyclist, not the woodpecker) was sweet and very apologetic!

So instead here is a shot more about ambition than achievement - the focus isn't perfect, the lens on my camera isn't quite long enough, yah de yah de yah - but I've been hoping to blip a deer for ages and suddenly this morning this perfect little roe popped his head up through the reeds. I was on a board walk in a nature reserve, so no chance of stalking him and getting closer, but it was nevertheless the high point of my morning!

And I shall look for every chance to blip a deer again very soon, even if I have to go somewhere like a deer park where they're not quite so shy and fugitive
